APU: Great graphics for the pricepoint, and a decent speed as well. I can handle the core amount, the family member is only going to use the computer for lots of light gaming, web browsing and word processing.

Motherboard: Love MSI's "E" series. I personally have a MSI A88XM-E45 in my rig, and it works wonders.

Memory: The manufacturer is trusted, it's cheap, and has acceptable if not excellent latency and speed for the pricepoint.

HDD: Again, trusted manufacturer. It's SATA 6 GB/s, 7200 RPMs and 250GB, faster and more than enough for what he would ever use.

Case/PSU: Yes, yes, I know, Rosewill sucks, but it's still a cheap case. The PSU is the cheapest I could find with an efficiency rating, so cut me some slack. Plus, it isn't entirely terrible.

OS: Windows 8. Installs amazingly fast, is faster in general, and I've had no driver/hardware issues so far with it in previous builds. Plus, newegg combo. Less money.

Here is the outline for a $350 PC, OS included. I am going to build this for a family member if they request a computer.

Any revisions you would suggest? I would like to bring it down to $300, if possible. Please do not suggest options that increase the price.

Thanks in Advance,

-Shadow

Im not sure you can get that price down further, honestly dont make anything lower or you iwll loose quality and performance..

Also the psu with that case is VERY BAD, it can blow up your system and potential fry your mains electrcity in your house or cause a fire which can lead to death OR WORSE.......

When your OS is the most expensive part of your build, you really are in trouble.

That's quite morbid for a computer building topic...

He is correct. Saving on a PSU is the most stupid choice you can make in a computer. I know of two mates who have had small fires(One of them were actually not that small) because of bad PSUs.....That was quite a few years back, but still.

Im sorry but its imperative that you get a better power supply at all costs, its like placing a timebomb in your pc, you may not know how much time you have left but its very risky and unsafe to you, the computer and your family, get any old 250w+ psu that has a 80+ rating on it, if it has that then its trustworthy at least, if it doesnt(which the psu in your case doesnt have) then throw it away. probably just easier to get a different or cheaper case without a psu and use that money to get a actual psu, you will probably have to save a bit more but its definitely worth it, ive seen first hand the hell that these crappy psus can raise, i really dont want anyone else to go through it.

Um... that's $333, not 313, and I only buy from amazon and newegg.

And that's CAS latency 10 RAM... I'd rather spend $5 more and get CAS latency 9.
