New GPU house keeping items

I'm finally making my first GPU upgrade to the system I built back in 2019. Are there general things I should do before or after I put the new card in? I did buy a new power supply last year with the new 16 pin connector, 850 watt power supply so I'm good there as well. I assume the main things will be get the drivers for the new card installed but should I delete the drivers for the old card as well? I will be staying with Nvidia to hopefully make things easier.

When you go to install new drivers just tick the box that says “perform a clean installation” and it’ll wipe all old driver related files in the process.

Unless something goes wrong with the drivers that’s all you’ll have to do.

If something does go wrong with the drivers you may need to use DDU to fully remove every little scrap of the previous driver but that’s not a common occurrence.
