consider the e5 1650 v4 instead because it will turbo a lot higher, equaling far better single thread performance. They are also half the cost or less, so the money savings might get you more into a gtx 1080

Can find used R5 2700X for 60EUR, nearly as fast multicore, way faster single core, much more recent and efficient, and has a huge upgrade path up to 5950X
