Ok so I've watched a lot of different reviews and peoples benchmarks (including Linus' obviously) between the GTX 780 and the GTX 780Ti.

However, everyone seems to get a some what different results (not huge differences but every now and then you see something unexpected).

And I know that it comes down to other variables such as the persons set up and build and overclocking and such.

My question is this: Is the price to performance ratio really worth getting a Ti over a non Ti? ( I planned to have either card I buy Overclocked regardless)

From a price:performance standpoint the 780 ti is not worth it compared to a 780.

Well the 780 ti has 25% more gpu cores. 2804 I think versus the original 780 which has 2304.

Titan released first at $1000 dollars, then the 780 came out for 500-600 dollars. But eventually the price drop came and brought it down to 400-450 dollars I think with the arrival of the 780 ti taking its place at the 600 dollar or 700 dollar price bracket.

I would not buy the 780 ti over the 780 in my opinion. But if I had the extra money it's worth the price or I'd get a titan black which is the 780 ti with 6GB of vram.

Thanks guys, I already shaved off at least 900$ to my current build because after doing some much needed research (mostly watching other linus videos lol) I realized what I wanted isn't what I need. Also, that it wouldn't impact the core performance noticeably.

Side note: I planned on getting a triple monitor display but I do know enough that a single gtx 780 or Ti wouldn't be enough for it however gaming on one isn't a deal breaker by far.

Also Thanks @

Depends on where you live, here where i live the 780 is more than 100€ cheaper than the 780ti.

A 780 or ti wont do crysis maxed out, but you'll be able to play some racing games on fairly high settings, if you into that kind of stuff

If gaming at merely 1080p, a GTX 780 is already overkill unless you have a monitor with a very high refresh rate (120 Hz and above).

I assume that you'll get at least three (3) 1080p monitors. So that's 1920x1080 x 3, or basically 6.2 megapixels. 4K resolution is 8.8 megapixels.

For triple monitor setups, you'd want at least a GTX 780 Ti 6 GB. The GTX 780 is generally poor value at very high resolutions. An R9 290X is a far better choice for triple monitor gaming than the GTX 780 for the price.

15.6" Clevo W650SJ: Intel Core i7-4810MQ / Geforce GTX 850M / 1 x 8 GB DDR3-1600 / Hitachi 1 TB 7200 rpm
14" Lenovo Y460: Intel Core i5-520M / Mobility Radeon HD 5650 / 2 x 4 GB DDR3-1333 / Hitachi 500 GB 5400 rpm

Don't buy a 6gb 780, it's pretty pointless.

I said GTX 780 Ti, not GTX 780. Well, when the GTX 780 Ti 6 GB does finally come out. The GTX 780 6 GB is pointless. The chip itself will bottleneck before it hits the VRAM limit. Besides, the GTX 780 is already overpriced as it is.

My apologies, I thought the Ti version was canned. Still kinda pointless though.
