The reason I've been thinking about upgrading is purely gaming (because of some comments saying it helps improve performance) however I still do want it to work overall without running into problems with it. My friend upgraded on his laptop and ran into a few problems with some games on steam (probably not the best example)

So I've posting this question on another website....that shall remain nameless (rhymes with lame max) And I didn't get much help. So, I decided to come to a much more tech savvy community I still currently have Windows 7 and I was thinking of upgrading to Windows 10. However, I have heard stories on both ends of the spectrum. Some people have had horrible experiences with it and others rave about how much they love it. SOOOOO! I was wondering if you fine people could give me some input, share your personal experiences, or pros and Cons about Windows 10?

So, Am I weird for really liking the design of the reference over the (well I would assume they would stick with the same design for the 980's) 970 from Asus and Zotec? I mean I think the only thing I'll really be kicking myself about from getting a non reference is the 0 decibel mode that Asus has (that is really cool.....no pun intended)
-
Just wondering. I mean a few sites that I frequent, a lot of people are just super against reference cards. I was kind of curious on what your guys' take was on them.
-
Why are people so against reference cards? Most of the time the reason is just the cooler. But are they just making a big deal out of nothing or does this hold some weight? I just bought the 980 reference, which is why I'm asking I mean, was it a terrible choice? is it going to blow up in my PC or something? should I return it?

Thanks for the Info! I'm curious, what exactly would you say qualifies as restriced spaces? Also how are the SP's on volume?

I'm toward the end of purchasing parts for my new build. I know, Noctua fans are basically the best when it comes to being silent (which i really want my new rig to be quiet as possible) However, I can't get over the color scheme =[ So I figure I go with the Corsair AF series. And for the first question Are the Corsair AF fans on par with Noctua in terms of volume levels? Second Question I have a i7 4770k I plan on slightly overlocking it (not much at all) I know its never good to cheap out on parts but what would be the cheapest liquid cooler i can get that will still perform great? (preferably a corsair cooler but it's not a deal breaker) Thanks for your time!

This is my first build so I am still learning a lot of things, however, I'm getting a 780Ti And initially I planned on getting an 850w psu but then I saw Linus' latest video about the 4k gaming rig. So I was wondering If he can get two Ti's in a rig and still only need 850, how much power do I REALLY need for a single overclocked card? I know I need headroom and I know the PSU has to power everything but how much would I actually need?
-
Thanks guys, I already shaved off at least 900$ to my current build because after doing some much needed research (mostly watching other linus videos lol) I realized what I wanted isn't what I need. Also, that it wouldn't impact the core performance noticeably. Side note: I planned on getting a triple monitor display but I do know enough that a single gtx 780 or Ti wouldn't be enough for it however gaming on one isn't a deal breaker by far. Also Thanks @ wng_kingsley7 glad too be here! =D

Ok so I've watched a lot of different reviews and peoples benchmarks (including Linus' obviously) between the GTX 780 and the GTX 780Ti. However, everyone seems to get a some what different results (not huge differences but every now and then you see something unexpected). And I know that it comes down to other variables such as the persons set up and build and overclocking and such. My question is this: Is the price to performance ratio really worth getting a Ti over a non Ti? ( I planned to have either card I buy Overclocked regardless) (I am very new here, Just joined BTW)
