Nope, it's correct as it is, but this Thought can go into both directions.

The Sensor is 4:3, so that's the full Image it can "see".

16:9 only works by cropping the sides.

Imagine you have an iPad, and you stream a 16:9 Video, it will crop in with black bars, giving you less space than your iPad Display Area. There won't be any additional Pixels outside of the iPad.

Does anyone else have this phone? The default 1x zoom (standard picture taking) seems like it's zoomed in and everything is too close and cropped out.

I'd have to use .5x to take a normal picture like every other phone takes. But that sacrifices image quality since it's not it's native view angle.

Is my phone's camera not right?

It's not set to some social media cropped portrait camera mode, is it?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Portrait mode actually gives me a WIDER (Normal) field of view.

I figured it out. It was in 16:9 mode. It takes normal pics in 3:4.

Still, I don't understand why 16:9 is zoomed in like that. It should fit MORE on the screen, not less.
