My recommendation is the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 or 280mm

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

From a glance at some reviews the III is an upgrade over the II, but only a small one so I don't think it is worth spending extra to get a III if the II is cheaper.

the three is on a mass discount until May. it's likely the three will be cheaper (an LF3 is $90)

not really, A 280mm LF3 performs better than a 360 LF2 when noise normalized and a 420 (if not offset)

I don't really look at 2.5 degrees as a huge difference tbh.

I would usually recommend against AIOs above 240/280 mm cause of the cost to performance ratio. However in this case the 420mm version of the Arctic Liquid Freezer III is kinda dirt cheap at £72 (the 240mm is £54).

what? I have the LF2 280 and you don't have to remove a mount. You just add the clips on the sides and add the correct back panel on the mobo for the socket. I haven't got intel but I've seen the manual and it doesn't seem finicky at all

If you want quiet, the the LF2/3 is a good bet. If, however, you want performance, the DC Mystique and EK Nucleus are 2 of the strongest.

Kris is referring to the LF3.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.
