Intel A310 vs GTX650

My friends room mate doesn't have more than a dollar to his name, and I have been fixing his computer every so often with parts that I have laying around or software issues with just my time.  But today it needs an entire mb/cpu/ram swap so I'm ordering an I5 6500 tomorrow.

 

Anyways that's the backstory, I was thinking that while I'm at it I will give him a gpu upgrade but only have so much on my debit card.  The stat's between the GTX650 and A310 are night and day, but is there a better budget option?  I have no idea what he plays but I'd imagine the A310 will be better at literally everything?  Last I heard the intel cards had some issues but I didn't pay much attention because I had no desire to purchase one.

 

Can I get some thoughts/guidance/advice on a budget gpu upgrade for a I5 6500?

RX 580 used market.  usually around 50-60 bucks for the 8GB?

It's around a 1070 (ish) in performance.

8GB here are close to the A310 price, I don't remember where my 580 went, probably someone in the same situation

what about the A380?  Looks to be close to the same price as the 310?

(But used, I'm really shocked the RX 580 is that much, even on ebay here they can be sub-60 bucks shipped)

Well he has debilitating anxiety so it's either Amazon or FB Marketplace, something that can get it here fast.  All he does is sit on his computer and either is or will be having a panic attack soon.  I'm not worried about a couple ten bucks, just something around $100

 

*edit: yeah good call on the A380, that one is open box which doesn't bother me at all, I know newegg is good with that stuff.

 

*edit again: I should check the psu, that's going to make a huge difference.  Was an Amazon special with a repackaged 2400 that he bought in 2020 for $800 >_<
