Pc crashing when gaming

Marceline

Been happening for months, tried a million fixes and nothing works.

Specs: radeon rx 5700, ryzen 7 5800x, 16gb ddr4 3200, rog strix x-570-e gaming. After benchmarks n stress tests for all components im convinced its a driver issue but ive used DDU and reinstalled my graphics drivers countless times at this point.

if you don't tell us exactly what the million things you've tried, we will be stuck here asking you 50 yes/no questions of:

"did you try this?"

"yes"

"did you try this?"

"yes"

I hope this is how you reply correctly, ive tried reseating the gpu and ram sticks, even using the ram in different slots then before now, ive tried using old AMD gpu driver versions, ive tried scanning for viruses and done SFC scans which say corruption but it also says it fixed it. I cant remember what else ive tried atm I apologize, Its likely I havent tried TOO much, mostly just stuff like software nothing done much with hardware for troubleshooting. bios is up to date, i updated it to see if that fixed it.

Google's very good at keywords that might find a correlation to like an error id:

Anyways considering what you said,

when did this start happening, more specifically, did this start happening randomly at a certain point, or was it happening almost instantly as soon as you bought the GPU? is it new or bought-used?

I know it sounds stupid but is there a less intensive game you could try for example roblox?

Update: Thinking it may have started when resize bar support came out, had it enabled since then. tried turning it off and game still crashed but lasted longer. gonna try clearing the shader cache and try again, also turning off tesselation mode AMD optimized in radeon software as it seems others have had issues from that. I know nothing about these features really so thats why i still post here, dk if im doing the right thing

I suggest you make a new post, with the addition of providing the error codes

With a YT video i found my solution. i had to set the pcie settings (in bios) for that slot from auto detect to pcie gen. 3 by hand. because the card runs with pcie gen.4 and my mainboard only was capable of gen.3.
