I am installing a different edition of windows (windows 11 pro, I have a key for that one). I don't want to use the windows 11 home the laptop came with (it's also gone now, as I formatted the drive). Is there any way to make the laptop forget the win 11 home keys and everything? I think that's causing the issue.

I'd just install windows 11 home then upgrade to Pro once installed then.

I keep getting this error while installing Win 11 on HP laptop

Windows iso downloaded straight from the official microsoft website. The laptop I'm downloading to already (had) windows 11 home, so when I booted it, I got to the boot menu and booted from the usb and formatted the drive so that the old windows 11 was deleted. when I try to perform the new installation, after selecting edition and installing windows, during restart process I get this picture. Secure boot is disabled, I tried every other solution available.

I am using rufus to create the usb, and in rufus I use the options
bypass tpm check
bypass ms account check
disable data collection
disable bitlocker

I even tried while disabled above options, but still get this error. I would also like to point out that this laptop has some issue getting storage, I had to manually install a storage driver to my bootable usb and then get the laptop to recognize the drives.

Don't use Rufus, use the Windows Media Creation Tool to make the USB. If you can't use that because you don't have access to another windows PC, then try disabling Secure Boot in your bios (re-enable when done installing) and check the product key you're using to install.

No, not that I know of. I think it's associated with the motherboard. I would go with @Electronics Wizardy's method - just install Windows 11 Home and change the product key in Settings once it's installed.

On my laptop (Lenovo Yoga with Windows 11 Home) it looks like this:
