AMD WRAITH PRISM MOD

Go to solution Solved by RevGAM,

Regarding dust, make sure there's more air going into the case than out, and that the intake fan ports have dust filters.

As for the clips, they are probably spring steel, so they are flexible and unlikely to break.

If you're interested in upgrading your Prism, put a high pressure fan on it.

Hello,

Recently I've been seeing a big increase of dust building up on my amd wraith prism cooler. I'm not too worried about dissembling the cooler itself however up to a point. When you reassemble the cooler apparently there are some clips either side where they're very fragile and worried ill break them when trying to put the cooler / fan back on the heatsink. Does anyone know anything about this? The only reason I want to clean it is because of how dusty it is and would want to spray paint it white.

Any help

Greatly appreciated!

If you manage to break them you can simply ziptie the thing back on so not the end of the world if those clips do break

Reading the title i thought you were gonna fan swap the thing with a 38mm thick fan for better cooling performance

You could change for a case with dust filters.

I have no problem at all with dust (apart from cleaning the filter once in a while while hoovering).

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

Also sweeping your floor, and tidying up helps with dust , as does a fresh furnace filter since it is winter 🙂
