Need help understanding what I'm missing?

Hello Everyone

Need some help, Built my 8 year old son a PC like 8 months ago. It's driving me ultra crazy!

Specs: I5 10600K

Asus Tuf B560M-plus wifi LGA1200

16 Gigs Ram

RTX 2080 super 8 Gig

Benq monitor using HDMI 60Hz refresh rate max for that monitor

Here is the issue: Runs fortnite like garbage max FPS 25 on low settings, med settings 15 FPS max, high settings not playable!? laggy as bleep, I've updated all the drivers, bios.................

I checked the bios settings everything looks ok.

I was going to buy a new LGA 1200 motherboard but can't find any at a good price. not about to spend $300 on a used one off ebay or amazon.

I just don't get it

Any ideas?

To rule out a problem with that specific game, I'd run a benchmark for the CPU like Cinebench and one for the graphics card like Timespy and then we can see which one is the problem.

What is memory usage like while playing Fortnite?

You have checked temperatures, I assume?

Double check all the simple stuff if you haven't already as well. Make sure you have drivers installed, I would recommend getting them from nvidias website. Also double check the game isn't trying to run on integrated graphics instead of the actual GPU.

I double checked all of the BIOS settings. The RTX 2080 super is set as the main videocard. Just crazy that I can't get more then 25 FPS on low settings!

I'm starting to think that montherboard is garbage!
