Is this normal? Fluctuations in GPU load benchmark.

Gpu: PNY Verto 4080
CPU: 13600k

I wanted to test my system stock, no overclocking or anything like that after swapping my PC case. Tested useing 3D mark.

Score is perfectly fine but my GPU load is all over the place, I guess I never noticed it

I was wondering if that’s normal?

Yes, completely normal.

GPU load usually is never constant, neither is CPU load as various textures are rendered in and out things change.

Edit:

I should say usually, as in games it's loading textures in and out a lot so spikes in usage can be normal. If all the textures are loaded and things aren't swapped in and out or the GPU isn't waiting on the CPU then 100% load is normal provided no other limits on FPS that would cause the GPU to not be at 100%

looks good, send it

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~

It is twords the end no?

It would also depend on which test it is because if they have the same textures on a loop then it could peg the GPU at 100% but if it's cycling a lot of textures or intermittently stressing the GPU then it would be like the first half. I've not run the benchmark in a while so I forget which test is what though. I've got a similar setup to you (4080 GPU at least). I'll run it in an hour or two but I suspect it's just the way each test is written stresses the GPU core/mem/etc differently.
