Should i switch over to telus or should i keep using shaw since my internet speed is not the best. i have the 25 mb plan and i will get the same 25 mb with telus. They offered me to give us a free new modem as well. The price is around the same since it needs to come with stupid tv. Any telus useres out there plz help

Don't go with Telus. You have to sign a contract, usually 3 year. Shaw doesn't tie you down.

Shaw should also provide you with a free replacement modem if yours is old. They do that for me whenever I ask. They just want the old one back.

Telus service isn't anywhere near as good as Shaw.

I have only heard from people that had Shaw then switched and complain about telus Internet speeds being terrible even though the plan was the same or similar and then switch back to Shaw. I have not used telus before for Internet quite happy with Shaw. Unless there is an issue you have Shaw or you are getting a better price (sounds like your not) or actually want the TV extra's Telus is offering my advice would be to stay with Shaw. Sometimes those new modems are combo router/modems so be careful.

Telus or Shaw? Really depends on where you live, as xToFxREAPER mentioned,

ISPs have different conditions in different areas because of their infastructure. In some places, their infastructure is conjested and unreliable, vice versa. It all depends on the experience.

oh gosh, Telus or Shaw, Its like the fanboy wars but not as intense. AMD OR NVIDIA?! GREEN!, NO RED!.

NO! TELUS DOES NOT!

Actually, shaw just flat out doesn't have contracts. With Telus, You're allowed to chose if you want to opt for contract or without, however, the risk is not without its rewards, sweet rewards such as XBOX, HDTV, Laptop Computer.

I'm not sure what service you had with them. I waited pree much about the same time on the phone for both companies before I could talk with an representative.

However, there are some differences in customer service with each company. I won't say which or what. But, I think some people out there know what I'm talking about when I say stereotypes. ;)

Which is why i said what i did, if his service is fine i wouldnt switch for the simple fact that if he does telus could end up being crap in his area

The rewards generally aren't that great. Especially since you're tied down.

I wasn't referring to their customer service support (I know techs for both companies so I've never had to wait when I call. Direct lines.), I was referring to the quality of the internet they provide.

I've also had it where I've had to call in to Telus to add email addresses and such. Not sure if it's still that way, but it was absolutely ridiculous.

Telus don't charge for going over the limit, for 25mb

/DL which is 250gb. I have download like 700gb and got away with it. I use telus here in Edmonton. The modem/router/wifiAP you get is nothing to write home about. I use a Linksys ea4500

So see which is better for you.

Both have good service as far as I know, #betterthanuseless
