Bookshelf speakers / Amp help please

gamermum12

Hello everyone!
I need help in choosing some bookshelves speakers; I 've never had speakers to own in my life. I’ll be using them for multi-purpose for games, music, movies. I’ve always used headphones/IEMS especially the HD 660s, My budget is $100.

I would appreciate any recommendations. I am looking for something more neutral frequency, if i could get a speaker experience that is like HD 600s that would be perfect. I don’t have a preference when it comes to being active or passive speakers, just looking for that perfect sound. Thank you.

Out of these choices what would be the best? (most neutral?)

If i have to go passive i don't have a lot of money to spend. I have found this amp nobsound on amazon is it any good for what I'm trying to achieve?  Will it drive the Neumi BS5?

This has 4 selections all at $100. Each one would fit the bill nicely.

I'm sorry to tell you that for $100 you're not getting anything that will sound as good as your HD660's, speakers start getting really good around the $300 mark and under that kind of budget (as much as i think that 660 are the worst of the 600 series of headphones) i'd still much rather HD660's than speakers under JBL 305/ Kali LP6 prices (you need to buy a pair of 305/ LP6's and they're where speakers start outperforming headphones from my experience)

At this price point, go for used. Passive speakers last for decades when they are not abused and there are loads of really nice speakers out there that you can buy for cheap because they are old. Just make sure you test them before you buy.

If it was my budget I would show brand loyalty and go with the edifiers.  That or give Micca a try for a little more, they're a brand that is really good at small speakers.  I have the passive version of the ones I linked and for being so tiny they are amazing..... though I have a really strong power amp behind them because the passive version is not efficient at all and soak up a ton of power. (I can't say that the powered version will be anything like the passive, but I have a hunch that they will do a good job at it)
