steam Download steam stuck at 1.2MB/s

So my download speed is stuck at 1.2MB/s peak (9.5Mb/s) on steam, also on epic games i have a slow speed.

When i check at speedtest.net i have a download speed of 222.25 Mb/s

 

Can someone help me please.

Speedtest.net doesnt mean you will get same connection speed to every other server. Some ISPs throttle usual suspects like steam and netflix.

yesterday my download speed on steam was around 20MB/s

i live in belgium and my internet provider is Telenet, don't know if that is what you mean?

Could have been a congested link somewhere in the path between Valve and you, most likely at the ISP level if everything else is quick or just an issue on Valve's side preventing them from sending you the files at a faster rate.

Also how a game is packaged can make a huge difference.  Some games are lots of small files, so the download speed is garbage, whereas others bundle most of their assets into a few large files which will allow the fastest speed for downloading.
