Nvme 3500 seq read 2100 seq write. ok?

I had and still have issues with Samsung 970 evo plus. There were a sort of slow reaction in windows and in softwares.

I read some articles about issues and followed one proposed solution. Switching place on main board. After doing so I experienced a huge improvement, but.... still. 

Using Samsung magician benchmark test I get the following numbers. 

3500 Mb/s sequential read

2100 Mb/s sequential write

Is that acceptable?

Try ATTO, or crystaldiskmark, or AS SSD benchmark.

970 Evo is a PCIE 3.0 drive.

It's perfectly normal.

 

Plus, it's always good to read the motherboard manual and know which M.2 slot to populate.

Hm. Thanks for answers. So 2100 Mb/sec seems to be quite normal according to the Samsung link.

I will use the alternative benchmark softwares that you recommend and see what result i get.

 

It seems my RAM  is only working at 1300 MHz.

Is that the cause of my problems maybe?

It’s ok, just that it’s 70% full, so pseudo SLC write buffer just doesn't work All, the time, as it files up.
it's OK, normal behavior.

All TLC/QLC SSD have the same problem, 

 

the spec are always „up to” on an empty SSD. 
 

it’s just that sometimes it’s more visible…
samsung 970 evo plus is good PCIe 3.0 ssd. 
 

some QLC SSD, like P3, will tank below 100MBps when outside od pSLC cache.

No, it doesn't matter which SSD or how large the capacity. It's the nature of flash storage.

 

If you are interested, normal day-to-day use is usually the bottom 2 numbers from CDM. The Sequential means nothing unless you are transferring files in sequential and 'predictive' matter.

Loading Windows, and loading apps ARE NOT SEQUENTIAL and 'PREDICTIVE', they are random.

 

I do have a Samsung 980 (it's worst than 970 Evo, it's DRAMless and rely on HBM, which uses system RAM to store and 'write' the look-up table), and I tell you, that log in Windows from cold start or a restart is some times fast, and some times slow, take a moment to recognised my fingerprint.

 

Just look at PCIE 5.0 SSD, yes, the Sequential numbers are pretty good looking, but when you look at the Randoms, it can go as slow as a SATA SSD on Sequential performance OR LOWER.

I repeat, it's the nature of flash storage, and you can't do anything.

 

Too bad that Intel 3D XPoint is dead, because it's better than flash storage.
