hd 6xx and my MB

wondering if my ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4 will be able to power a set of hd 6xx or wiill i need a amp and if so are is there one that i can get for like 100 canadian. I have akg 7xx but the head band broke and touchs on my ears.

My rig.... cpu i7-920 , MB asus p6t se , RAM 8gigs , GPU evga 760 sc , Case antec 900, western digital 2x500 gigs hhd , PSU  antec 800w , Display syncmaster 2233rz , Cooling antec kulher h20 620 ,  keyboard / mouse / headset    G15 keyboard , g500 mouse , Razor megladon headset

HD 6xx is a 300 ohm headphones, You will not be able to properly power them with a basic MB headphone plug.

 

This is one of the considerations of higher end headphones, you pretty much have to be prepared to spend money on a DAC+AMP or DACAMP combo unit.

The 6xx will be able to run with onboard but won't be at it's full potential, at least that was my experience with my onboard solution.

 

For a budget amp look for the douk audio U3 and get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter.

They'll run fine enough, don't believe that "more ohms means harder to drive" the 6xx are 103db/mw, you don't need any crazy amplification for them but i understand wanting a nice DAC to plug them into. Fosi DS1 is a great budget DAC/AMP, Qudelix 5k is probably the best DAC below Schiit magni+modi stack money and i'd take Qudelix over every other brand you're thinking of
