AIO for 14600KF

Go to solution Solved by Tan3l6,

No, 120mm AIOS are basically pointless.

Rather go with some Thermalright Burst Assassin or some dual-tower cooler from TR if possible.

Hello!
For the 14600KF is it enough an AIO with only 1 fan (120mm)?
I don't want to do any OC, just for the cpu to be able to run to it's max turbo speed.

Just get a thermalright PA120, a Deepcool AK620 or a 240mm aio like the arctic liquid freezer ii 240 or the lt520

Some want the look of an AIO Block with the tubes, some blocks look really good and give your system a noticably more premium look, but fr, except for that and fast heat transfer they are a bit meh.

Thermal RIGHT? What in the world is thermal right? I know thermaltake, but not thermal right.

Also call me a fanboy, but id usually go for be quiet if you have the budget. They are a bit pricey (at least the high end ones), but will last for many years, especially if you decide to upgrade one day, but feel free to take something from other brands (noctua is great too), but make sure to really look at what your buying before buying, otherwise it will be a big pain in the ass getting that thing back to China.

Btw: Just a question since I don't know much about CPUs: are we talking about an i3, i5, i7 or i9?

You're just kidding?

TR is the best price coolers where available it seems.

I have never in my life heard of thermal right lol

It is not.

Also if you have a quite low height cooler there's probably a reason - is the case very narrow, I mean is there a CPU cooler height limit low?

Burst Assassin has lame fans.

No.

But yea, I'd recommend Arctic Liquid Freezer 280 and bigger though, if going after AIO.

That case can only take 280 or smaller.

@WeNeKappa

170mm is the tallest an air cooler can be, but you have to look at clearance on the sides of the cooler. That's where it gets tricky. Even some AIO heads might not fit, so be sure to measure and make sure that what you get won't collide with your memory, etc.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

If they are too lame there probably is an option to change fans to better ones.

But yeah, did not notice the AIO size limitation.

There is always the option to upgrade fans with your own money, as long as there's space.  😀
