RTX3060 vs 4060TI

Is it worth it to go from a 3060 12GB to a 4060TI 16GB, it's at $450 in newegg and amazon or is there another card that would be better if the goal the biggest upgrade with the reasonable least money

Currently I got a ryzen 5 3600x, 3060 12GB and 16GB of ram

I'd look at the used market and see what you can get there. Should be able to steal a significantly faster card for the same price.

None of those is worth the money. Just step up to at least a 7800XT or get an used 6900XT for that money.

I'd want to upgrade to at least a 4070/7800 XT. Given the 4070 Super was just announced, I'd expect the 4070 to drop in price within about a month and should hopefully be within your price range.

Ok Update while thinking about it I told my friend to see what his opinion was, he to give himself a sense of the prices decided to look up cards in a particular online store where he found this!, it's a local reputable legit store they have 10 physical stores, they have had this card just sitting there since 2021 at that ridiculous price BTW Q15k translates to $1993 yeah and Q3895 to $498 sooo yeah I just jumped the gun and immediately bought it, it arrives tomorrow, I dont know what happened there cause when you browsed all their cards it showed up with a 76% discount but when you clicked on it the price suddenly changed and the discount now was only 48%($1095) you know, a way more reasonable price for a 3080TI but still way out of my budget, soo I added it to the cart to see what would happen and in the cart it was the $498 price so I just bought it and BTW my current 3060 came from the LTT verified gamer program.

Well if the store is reputable and you are sure it won't close down in the next 2 years while the warranty lasts, it's a great deal for that 3080Ti. It's probably a revived card (either an RMA or ex-miner), but if it has warranty, you have nothing to worry about. When you put it in though, do a stress test as soon as possible.

Ok update.

The card arrived, box was a just a bit damaged but the seal tapes weren't cut and it didn't seem like they were removed, bottom of the box is sealed with some glu but didn't seem to be opened and released there either, So I open it and there was indeed a 3080TI in there, it still had all the plastic and I tried to look for dust or fingerprints and couldn't find any, there is a sticker over a screw to take off the backplate and it's intact, it straight up look like a new card to me.

So I went and bought a new power supply and installed it.

did a benchmark and I did get a lower score than others of the same card but it it just cause i'm CPU bottlenecks?
