Of course you want to wait for the reviews but this was posted on another board today by a poster who's more often a hit than a miss when guesstimating new hardware performance before it's released. The RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB looks to be the best value of these new cards for peeps gaming at 1440P.

If the 4070TI Super is only a bit faster than a 7900XT, then IMO the 7900XT is still the better value as you can find those for less than $800,  more VRAM is a nice feature as well.

I doubt the 4080Ti S is going to be available at $800 on AIB models, as Nvidia doesn't allow their partner brands to design cards with much room for margins.

Even if those numbers are correct, the RTX 4070 Super would still offer better proce/performance, as the 4070 Ti Super is 33% more expensive, but would only be about 25% faster.

It would be closer, but still a win for the 4070 Super.

The 4070 Super 12GB should be a great card for gaming at 1080P.

Funny to think if it wasn't the RTX 4070ti Super, it would've been the RTX 4080 Super 12GB. So, we would've otherwise been looking at 4 different 4080's, 3 of 4 being 16GB with one 12GB... Still, a RTX 4070ti Super is kind of dumb naming wise.

The 4080 is being phased out as is the 4070 Ti 12GB.

They'll still exist on various markets though, what's still 'new in box' and on the used market. Even at this point in 2024, its a struggle to differentiate between the 3080 10GB and 3080 12GB on benchmarks, some don't differentiate at all. Anytime there's a variation on a naming convention, even with Super or Ti, it makes things more complicated.

I'd personally rather them brand it as RTX 4085 or such, something more definitive and differentiating to the consumer. I would imagine at this point, that decision was ran through an AI to determine what would give them the most profit, which might be as simple as, "we've already spent millions of dollars marketing the RTX 4080, so just steal the name or add to it".
