Honestly 500$ chromebooks are quite a ripoff as they offer cruddy specs for the budget.

For college get an actual laptop 500$ is plenty. You'll get FAR more value out of an actual laptop (also no bussiness uses chrome os and a lot actively deny people that xant use windows or OFFICE properly at a basic level).

Also you can use it offline it's not just an internet terminal plud a lot a universities will hit ya with and now install x program. Oh you have a mac, chromebook,... well too bad

You have evrything here.

Wanna write on the screen? Sure

Performant cpu

Good battery

16gb of ram

storage is a bit low but it is actually upgradable if you so wish.

Whatch out for the lenovo v15 laptops. They look great on the specs but use a very old tn screen which has bad viewing angles and poor color reproduction.

They are pretty good latops the screen just kinda sucks. If you re used to chromebooks its what most of them use.
