MB connector on beQuiet Dark Power Pro 11 1200W

akranjc71

I bought this PSU second hand and I didn't get all the accessories with it so now I'm writing to bequiet support if they can send me the accessories and they said that I can't get a "MB connector". What exactly does this cable do? Do I need it for day-to-day use? Do I need it for extreme overclocking?

It looks like some kind of hdd connector on one side and a 4-pin on the other?

I had a look at the cables in reviews and it appears to be a molex connector.

They used to have them on high end boards many years ago to provide additional power to the pcie lanes etc but I presume that's why they specify it as a motherboard connector instead of calling it what it is..... a molex connector.
