I want to try out free video editing/creating a bit(Tech Stuff), so could anyone suggest some video editing software and some tips for filming?

I would not like the software to be extremely processor/iGPU intensive or difficult to learn, but at the very least have a mild variety of features and be a decent match to Windows Movie Maker.

My computer is a Windows 8.1, AMD A10-6790K  based system with Integrated Radeon HD 8670D graphics. Here are the full system specifications.

Thanks in Advance,

All video editors will be CPU intensive. If you want a simple one that still has some features I've used CyberLink PowerDirector and it worked well for me.

By extremely, I meant not in the 90%. Thank you for the suggestion, though, I shall check it out.

adobe premier pro or sony vegas pro. for software. learn it, stay away from other media editors.

if you want to , xilisoft's media creator is a nice option & power dvd's version of video editor.

Details separate people.

you could always try a full life time demo from the pirate bay of premier pro CS6 , also their is no way you will find a video editing software that is not CPU intensive . unless you tone down the resolution to 720P or the videos you use in the editing are already pre complied/ compressed.

At least 85% sometimes 90%. It's normal, since video editing is always very intensive.

Hmm... What are the downsides to using Movie Maker? I heard there were a few from someone, but how bad are they? Because it's starting to seem like a good option compared to this intensive alternatives.

There aren't that many, it is just quite basic and designed for people who just want to slap something together quickly

I heard it degrades the image quality, though.

Anything will technically degrade the image quality, just ensure you have the correct output settings

you can load your cpu to 100% whatever it is if you have the correct multithreading/rendering options activated, so...

an any kind of video editing software can do the basics, the "workflow" is just different with each one...
