Budget (including currency): <500

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 90%gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have an ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A Gaming motherboard. However I've had a LOT of issues with this build that I believe are related to the memory controller. (no BSOD, just black screens randomly)

I'm looking to replace this with a board that is recommended rather than me just selecting one that I "think" would be good.

Memory is 32GB ADATA XPG Lancer Blade DDR5-6000 CL30 32GB (2x 16GB) Dual Channel RAM.

Depends of what you want from it

Basically any B650 board will work ok, all have overkill VRM and the 7800X3D don't need much power

Only difficulty is if you want some specific PCie lanes/M2 setup, all all boards have different but equally weird choices with everything from Gen5x16 to Gen3x1... really have to look at details here :

Good all around boards would be B650 Gigabyte Aorus Gaming or Elite, either ATX or mATX for 50 bucks less (C$200 to $300)

A rather more luxurious nice one imo at 450 canuck rubles is the Asus B650E Strix E-E, the cheapest to have a postcode (and B650E has more PCie lanes too)

I have personaly used the MSI B650 TOMAHAWK and GIGABYTE B650 AORUS AX in multiple builds without issues, with X3D CPU's as well 🙂

Here is a long video by Hardware Unboxed, he goes through 35x B650 boards, maybe you can get suggestion here.

There is also a written article for this video if you prefer to read.

TL;DR for the above video, they're basically all fine, especially for a low power draw chip like the 7800x3D. Buy based on I/O requirements and I guess looks.

If you are correct the issue is on the CPU as that is where the memory controller resides.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
