What is the best brand for the 280x? Going around the forums, people have been saying the toxic is the best but it is not in my price range. My options are gigabyte, xfx double d, asus, sapphire dual x. Been looking at the reviews on new egg and everytime I decide on a card, i come across a bad review like the asus has issues with artifacts or the gigabyte is loud.

i would suggest looking at other sites then newegg, review are mostly over exaggerated, i suggest looking at anand tech or toms hardware for better review then just, 'its quiete, cool and plays most games at 60 FPS + at ultra (which is BS most of the time)'

I just came across the sapphire dual x for $289.00. The reviews are pretty solid. How does this card compared with the gigabyte?

I have the Sapphire card, runs quieter than the Gigabyte & has unlocked voltage. It's the better option.

The ASUS R9 280X DCUII http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FT2S4BG. I've got one and never hear it even when playing BF4 on ultra settings. It runs cool and fast. I've also done some overclocking and it can reach some nice OC's due to the DCUII cooler and the custom VRM cooling.

If its the sapphire dual x then i can get that. Im looking at gpus that are under 230.

The sapphire dualX is a good design, if you could find a vaporX for not much more it could be worth it.

Sapphire are specialised in AMD GPU's so you can't go wrong with that...in fact you can't go wrong with anything that has a third party cooler on it but Asus have been having some issues recently with AMD GPU's...other good choices would be MSI twinfrozr...i would avoid gigabyte windforce or any other tripple fan design cooler cause they are noisier.

Doesn't the twinfrozr leak oil and coil whines? I think ill just w8 a bit and hope that vapor or toxic prices drop. Ill probably just get the dual x.

DualX is good, no need to wait for a vaporX there's not much difference between the two...MSI twinfrozr won't leak oil at least mine doesnt neither does it ''coil whines''...maybe those where early issues with twinfrozr cards, it has to be fixed now i run an highly overclocked GTX 780 twinfrozr gaming OC card for over a year now and i have had no such issues..and the card is very quiet, run's cool and is an awesome overclocker.

I have the ASUS R9 280X . It runs cool and quiet (I did not overclock her yet). Artefacting is not a issue with the new BIOS from january 2014.

It runs nicely with my Xeon 1230 v2 and runs BF4 64 player maps on ultra without AA around 70-90 FPS. It depends on the map of course.

It doesnt dip below 60 FPS with these settings. In some maps you can turn on AA and get even better frames, like I said it depends.

If you have any other questions on this particullar card jus ping me and I would be glad to answer your questions.

I found an open box asus 280x for 260 on newegg. Is it a risk or should i just get a new one for 330?
