Bad performance with low cpu and gpu usage.

So about 4 years back I bought my first gaming pc. And its done me proud over the years but lately it's been acting strange. It used to be good at multitasking while giving admirable FPS. lately tho the impact of a browser for example has been noticeble. Im convinced its underperforming even without any background processes.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: RTX 2070 SUPER

I've seen that updating BIOS might help but I'm new to that so wanted to look for more knowledgeable people's opinions. Also my temperature are fine.

It probably is.

 

Update all the drivers from your motherboard website. (You don't post your build, so I can't give you a link. Just google your exact model.)

Also, get the latest AMD chipset drivers from here.

Check if one of your ram sticks died. Single channel memory destroys performance.

keep in mind newer bios might not be compatible with old 3600. 

 

might have to replace thermal paste on gpu and cpu instead,  also make sure there's no dust anywhere in the system
