hey guys my name is joshua

i've been troubleshooting for over 5 hours at this point but wasn't my first day doing this shoot. So me and my friend wanted to play BO3 custom zombies but when he started his BO3 it immediately closes. then we were started to look for error code. and we found this

  1. Faulting application name: blackops3.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x63f95e3c
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.19041.2788, time stamp: 0x2f715b17
    Exception code: 0xc0000374
    Fault offset: 0x00000000000ff449
    Faulting process ID: 0x6b28
    Faulting application start time: 0x01da337bb6927ce4
Faulting application path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops III\blackops3.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report ID: 0555b413-13da-427d-aff8-3012f4d8225c
    Faulting package full name:
    Faulting package-relative application ID:

we have tried many things like contacting tech support of windows and they said to use command regvr32 /u ntdll.dll and then do regvr32 ntdll.dll

but that didn't work so i've started to look at other solutions and i found one. there was someone with the exact problem as us same error code (0xc0000374) so we've tried his sollution didn't work either

so i've convinced my friend to upgrade to windows 11 with a fresh install so that maybe the "corrupted"/"missing" files would have been replaced. but if this doesn't work do you guys may have some other sollutions (and yes we have also reinstalled the game )

Contact the game developer asking them politely to investigate and resolve the root cause of issues with their software, or at least provide proof that it's not their software so you can then contact Microsoft for further assistance. If that doesn't work, request a refund for the game through the platform it was purchased, or contact your payment provider to perform a chargeback. If none of that works, contact the arm of government that handles Consumer Protection in your jurisdiction, asking them to handle this situation where you've paid for but not received a functional product as advertised.

Having (almost) the exact same issue, my game will hang on the intro and only play the startup audio before becoming completely unresponsive and crashing.

I've been searching since Friday for a solution, however none posted online have worked for me.

Fresh install of the game on a different drive did not yield any results.

For documentation purposes, I'm adding on that my error is slightly different. Instead of exception code 0xc0000374 with a fault offset of 0x00000000000ff449, I am getting exception code 0xc0000005 with a fault offset of 0x0000000000033aca. Event viewer still points to ntdll.dll as the faulting module path.

Hope we can find a solution, this game is too young to be completely unplayable just yet.
