Reueire help to transfer windows 10 from one ssd to another

Hello, I need help transferring data from my old SSD  to the new SSD.

ok so this is my plan: I am going to buy a WD_Black 1TB SSD,

and I am going to transfer my data to it. (Bootable data like Windows 10) via an SSD enclosure.

Then change the old SSD with the new one. Then format the old SSD.

The only problem I have is that I don't know how to transfer data like Windows 10 and other essential bootable software to the new drive.

Can anyone help?

I use Clonezilla. A bit spartan but does the job.

Do you need an enclosure, can't hook up both ssd's at the same time?

I am swapping my Laptop storage. Asus Zenbook 15, has only one SSD space in it.

If using Macrium Reflect

Clone method :

1. Install new SSD into enclosure, connect enclosure to laptop

2. Confirms that SSD is detected in Windows Disk Management

3. Download Macrium Reflect Home Edition Free Trial & Install
4. Clone all partition from your Old SSD to the New SSD

(Select the old Drive on macrium, there will be an option saying "Clone this disk" and "Image this disk" under it. Select clone.)

- If your previous drive is smaller (I assume), decide what to do with the leftover space on the new SSD. Leave it alone so you can make new partition out of it, or integrate it into the C partition you're about to clone into the drive.

(See Pic below)

- Selecting Exact Partition will leave the leftover space on your WD untouched.

- Selecting Shrink or Extend will integrate the leftover space into your C: partition

5. After that's done with. Safely remove the SSD enclosure. Shut down windows. Replace old SSD with the new one.

6. Decide what to do with with the old one, whether you want to keep it as a backup boot drive (Unconnected), or Format it and use it as storage using the enclosure.

My suggestion : keep the old one untouched for a bit while, maybe like a month. If nothing is wrong with your new one, then feel free to use the old one for whatever you want.
