PS4 NW-31291-6

Hello

 

So i got this ps4 a week ago and i couldnt find a solution for this.. When i want to connect to my WiFi my ps4 needs some time to find my router but when it finally finds my router and when i try to connect i get error code "NW-31291-6" basically meaning that the connection is weak but on every other device it connects to my router. I tried everything Reseting Router Reseting the ps4 but absolutely nothing. Anyone here that can help?

The thing about wifi is that each device can differ based on what antenna they use, where the antenna in it is placed, how much other EMF interference there is etc.

 

I would see what happens if you put the PS4 nearby the router, if you still have an issue with that then it could be an issue with the PS4's wireless.  If it connects fine, then it just might be on the fringe on what the PS4 in the current condition can handle.

 

It's similar to lets say my laptop vs my phone vs my pico.  My laptop can connect anywhere in my house, my phone can mostly connect everywhere, but the Pico I can only sometimes connect if the computer next to me isn't on (too much interference).

 

Depending on the router, you might be able to increase it's power output or change the frequency bands (and hope that it helps).  Overall though it's just about getting the router closer.

PlayStation has notoriously weak wifi, either put your router closer to it or consider using a Ethernet cable, which is preferred for gaming anyway.
