Why are argb fans different shade then the rest

MegaMasterMike

I have 10 argb fans from antec in my nzxt h9 flow and I have them connected to 2 argb controllers and I’m noticing that like half the fans are a shade or 2 off in color from the rest hard to notice but when changing them to like a light blue it’s more noticeable like half the fans are light blue and the other half are like a bluish green what could this be?

The plastic used in making the fans, or pretty much anything made of plastic, is made in extremely large buckets or vats wherein the ingredients for the plastic are dumped and heated.  So, during the process some stuff is made from the stuff in bucket A and some is made from bucket B.  It appears that you got fans from both buckets.

Take care and good luck.

That’s what I was thinking because I had to order 2 5pk fans (yes my case has 10 fans)

Contact Antec abs ask them to resolve the issue.

@kb5zueis referring to the plastic itself, not the lights. They should be the same but mistakes happen. If you 10 of the same fans, you should get the exact same colors...

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

Yeah I prob will idk if you can see in the photos but when setting colors to light blue some are actually light blue and others are more like a mint green some colors it’s harder to tell like dark blue is hard to tell, red, pink

I'd probably be able to see the difference if I were there.

Average cameras won't capture the picture how we actually see RGB lights with our eyes and thats why advertised images for RGB products are modfied. All I can see is the RGB rings looking slightly dimmer than the other. These things could happen with different production batches with some plastics/parts being same as before. Are you able to return it and ask if they can get both boxes matching. This is why I don't put too much RGB stuff into a single case.

It's more likely that the LEDS are manufactured to a lower consistency than the plastics.  You encounter it more so when you get LEDs with higher power or when you have lights near each other but in different temperature zones. (A RGB light near an incandescent will have a different color output than one that stands alone because the phosphors of the chip are activated under different stresses)

It must be true, I read it on the internet...
