The amount of work that they put into making this movie, Gravity, just blows my mind.  I can't even comprehend what the tech team did for this movie.  I just finally watched it and while I was annoyed at times with Sandra Bullock's performance I enjoyed the movie but the real fun is finding out in the extras just what it took to get this to theatres, on blu-ray and dvd.  I actually had my jaw drop and said out loud, "My mind is blown." while watching the extras.  How do people do this? How do they put in that many years to make a movie?  How do they break up the work handing different pieces to so many different people and yet have it all mesh and look so good in the end?  I just can't even believe it.

I think some people need to watch the extras to Gravity and maybe it will give them an understanding of just how hard people work now to bring films to us and in the future before complaining about how bad a film was they will at least think about the people making it and how hard they worked.  Seriously if you haven't watched the extras for this movie, Gravity, do it.  It may make you understand why going to the movie theatre is getting more expensive and should be tolerable to you even if you think it is expensive.
By the way I am interested to hear from people who program whether they have skills similar to the people working on this film or are just beginning to learn the sort of programming that was used in making this film.  I am eager to hear your perspective on what technically was done in Gravity and hear about what you think the man hours were for some of these people individually and what do you think they were paid?  Any other subjects/comments that come to mind when thinking of this film please share.

Again .. my mind was blown.

The movie looked great I'll give it that. But I didn't like it because it had no real story.

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.

Look I hate Sandra Bullock but even with her annoying presence on screen I understood the story.  It was about a woman who needed to find a way to really live again and it was in this tragedy she found the will to live again through the help of others she interacted with during the tragedy.

Technically, gravity is pretty good movie visually , it's basicaly comes down to the script writters , screenplay and directors effort to make any movie great, even if the story is whacked , we've all seen some high budget movie with huge animation budget & A-list celebrity movies go down *cough*sharktale*cough*  , the animation perspective is neutral these days , since movie makers know they'll make a profit anyways(crappy or not , they have the audience).

Software & hardware is not the barrier to imagination these days. It's amazing to see the scale on what they're doing it in , compared to a home PC with limited capabilities. pretty sure some had a vision to work on regardless of the hurdles, like steve jobs, they delivered.

Details separate people.
