silent mechanical keyboard suggestion?

Looking for a silent mechanical keyboard, that I can use in an office setting. Not looking for something overly gamey looking. Would really like a retro look if possible. Max budget $150, looking for black friday/cyber monday deals especially. Thanks!

Keychron makes good keyboards. I have the k6, but the Gateron Blue version, not exactly silent but they should have options. I know mine was below $100, and they have boards as low as I think $79 and up.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Heres a chart from their site. I just checked and Red Switches are available on multiple boards. I know they sell some of these on Amazon as well but Im not sure if they sell them all.

I love Gateron Silent Browns as well as Cherry Silent Red's. Both are fantastic to type on I feel personally and won't offend anyone else in proximity from the sounds of violent key strokes. I am using the Mountain Everest Core right now with Silent Reds.

you guys might think I'm weird for this but I love my Kinesis split keyboard with cherry MX silver switches. it's quiet and comfy. warning: Kinesis does not use hot swap keys so you'll be soldering if you ever want to change it, and they sure as shit charge enough to have used swap sockets so if you order one make sure you don't accidentally get blue like I did the first time.

I think its a bit out of the OP's budget but Id say its probably a solid suggestion. One of the Twitch streamers I watch uses one. Id probably consider one if it was a bit cheaper.

I got it "refurb" from them for $120. I see it's gone up. dang.

What keyboard size are you looking for? If you're looking for a 100% board, then your options are limited and expensive.

Tenkeyless, 75%, and 60/65% boards are very common and much more affordable.

Mechanical keyboards are LOUD regardless if you go clicky, tactile, or linear. There are silent switches on the market that implement rubber sliders and cushions to suppress the bottoming and upstroke.

This would be my recommended set

YUNZII YZ75 75% - most importantly this is hot-swappable which will allow you to easily replace the switches with silent aftermarkets

Akko V3 Silent (45 pcs)
