No you are in thermal limits. So all is good

It does help A LOT like 7c temp decrease isnt uncommon

But you are currently good i'd just replace the case fans with some arctic p series and let them be on auto

I have had my airflow set up like this. The idle temperature is ≈ 40°C. Is this an ideal setup? Can it be improved if I add another fan on top?

Specs:

  • i7-13700K with Noctua NH-U12A

  • MSI RTX 3060

Idle temps don't matter. What are your FULL Load temps? (for example after 10 minutes of Cinebench etc)

You can also get an LGA1700 contact frame.

Idle temps give me the warm and fuzzies, especially if its cooler than everyone else. Even better if you get lower loads too.

Here are the results:

Multi-Core Test:    Min-36°C    Max-100°C    Avg-62°C

Cinebench Score: See Attached

Current Temperatures remained between 85°C-92°C during the test.

P.S. Case fans run at full speed at all times. Case link: https://antec.com/product/case/gx505window

Oh hey thats an oldie

Yup all good thats best you can do.

If you want to SIGNIFICANTLY lower the noise whilst also upping cooling some arctic p series fans would make good and cheap replacements.

A uh12a is a bit underpowered for a 13700k but it'll do

I'm fine with the noise it doesn't bother me. What cooler would you recommend then?

Id recommend you replace the case fans either way and link then to cpu temp.

You have the 13700k at 92  max thats fine 13c under throthle temp.

Noctua UH-12A

I suspect you mean the NH-U12A. Undervolt the CPU; get stronger fans (Arctic P12 Max,  Phanteks T30, Cooler Master Mobius OC, etc) for the case's intake and on the cooler and use the Noctua fans on the case as exhaust; adjust your fan curve; and use a contact frame.

Alright, I will look into the stronger case fans and contact frame. Is the contact frame absolutely necessary?

For 13th gen, it makes a difference. If you want, so the fans first and see what happens.

No you are in thermal limits. So all is good

It does help A LOT like 7c temp decrease isnt uncommon

But you are currently good i'd just replace the case fans with some arctic p series and let them be on auto

Jaslion and I look at these things from different perspectives. I'm not saying that they are wrong, however. If you want lower temps, which is never a bad thing, keep my advice in mind.
