Tailscale + unRAID SMB share. Can't connect/map shares remotely

Go to solution Solved by marcgii,

I found the answer by going to the plugin support thread.  You have to disable the SMB NetBIOS allow setting.

To my understanding, connecting to share while using tailscale should be as easy as just typing in your tailscale IP and share name.  e.g.  \\100.123.100.123\Media.

But Windows is failing to connect for no clear reason.  I'm able to ping my unRAID server and connect to the dashboard.  So both device are definitely connected.  I'm using the plugin version of tailscale on unraid and not the docker version.

Anyone have any ideas?  Should I change my tailscale settings on unRAID to something other than the default?

You don’t use the tailscale IP… you use your servers SMB IP.

Pretend you are on your LAN, connect the same as you would in that case.

I tried that as well.  No luck.  Pinging my normal unraid LAN IP doesn't work.  Perhaps it's a config problem?  There's not much I can change really.

The SMB settings on unraid or on windows?
I'm having the exact same problem.

It's a setting within the unRAID dashboard.  But I imagine you figured that out by now lol.

Mine was already disabled, that's not the problem. Any other ideas?
