Occasionally no video output

This is old pc but behavior is strange, doing light tasks only , idling on windows, web browsing, youtubes, and video playback

suddenly no display, but movie sound continues, manually reboot and its normal again

Happens about once per day

 

Replaced hdmi cable but issue remains 

 

What could be the issue?

 

System specs 

I7 4770 , 2x4GB ram, dell oem mobo and 450w psu, msi gtx970, mx500gb ssd ffor windows 10 boot

Try running off the iGPU and see if it still happens.

 

Could be your monitor as well.
