GPU swap price help.

Go to solution Solved by naylor2006,

Oh I see, well yeah if your getting a 4080 for the new rig then bye bye 3080 I guess.

Its kind a hard question to answer because condition of his card and your card comes into it. A brand new MSI 3070 Ventus x2 as is only 280GBP brand new in the UK and used 3080FTW3's in good condition are nearly fetching 500GBP.

So the 3070 is worth around 350USD new and your 3080 on the second hand market could fetch around 600USD, so in my opinion theres quite some value difference between the two. US market could be dramatically different to the UK but the 3080 card you mention is listed at nearly 800GBP new at some outlets.

Just pulling this out of my head, 200USD seems about right, depends how much you like them of course 🙂

Country: USA

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this.

I am building a completely new custom loop PC.  The rig I game on currently has an EVGA 3080ftw3 in it. My buddy wants the card for his rig. I would like to sell my old PC as a complete system so I told him I'd sell it to him but I want his MSI 3060 Ventus 2x. What would be a fair cash price to ask for on top of the 3060?

Secondly, the rig I'm going to be selling is a 10700k cooled by an EK 360 Elite AIO, MSI 3060 Ventus 2x(as long as the deal goes through), 32g of G.Skill 3200, MSI Gaming Edge WiFi Z490 mobo,  750w 80+ Gold Cooler Master PSU, 1T Samsung SSD, 11 EK Vardar case fans and a Lian Li Lancool Mesh 2 case. The PC was built just under 2 years ago. I've looked up several used PC pricing sites but the prices they list seem a little high for what I think it's worth. What's a fair price? Appreciate  any help.

I'm just a bit confused, why wouldnt you keep the 3080 for your new rig?

I have a 4080 for the new build. I couldn't bring myself to rip an EVGA card apart to put a waterblock on it, knowing that they aren't made anymore. Call me sentimental. Plus I like to fly in DCS with VR(HP Reverb G2) and even the 3080 struggles pretty bad, despite countless hours of tweaking settings. So my buddy gets an upgrade and I get an upgrade, it's a win win.

For strangers I'd pay max $400 for an pristine EVGA 3080. For friends I'd give a bit of a friends exclusive discount however big that'd be but personally it'd range from $50-100.

If you're getting in return a 3060, I'd say used go max $200. Maybe $50-100 max with extra cash on top of 3060 for 3080?

From my ebay and marketplace searches, here in the US, the 3080 used goes for 425 to 500 and the 3060 is 150 to 200. We settled on 250 dollars. He offered 300, I told him 250. Appreciate the help!

He’ll enjoy the 3080, I love mine!
