How to stop windows from reinstalling older drivers

i have a intel intergrated gpu (iris xe ) in my 11th gen i5 (1135G7) laptop and i keep my drivers updated to the latest via intel driver and support assistant app it downloaded and installed the latest version (31.0.101.4887) from intel website but however in my windows updates in keeps downloading the older version of the driver that my laptop came with (30.0.101.1404) i need to stop windows updates from downloading and installing older version can anyone help me with this issue 😛

Recently went through this ordeal myself with a 1165G7. Download the driver manually and dont click the "clean install" when installing. That fixed it for me.

thats still does not fix it sadly for me cause whenever i restart the laptop the driver is installed again i just wanna kill the goddamn windows updates 😠

only solution so far for me to just pause udates 😞

You can also disable installing drivers through windows update.

the post from @Levent you just quoted tells you exactly how to turn off *only* automatic driver updates. 

 

its also the *only* way how to do this as far im aware.
