Docked ROG Ally charging issues

I've been in VR all day today, and for some reason, my Ally's battery dropped to 19%. It's plugged into a dock with 30-watt charging support. It has the original charger that came with it. Is this normal?

hi there! the ally should be taking a 65W charger. Your current one probably isn't supplying enough power.

unless you mean that the 30W charger used to keep it charged when used in the same way?

The charger I am using is the one that came with the Ally, the 65-watt charger.

ah so is the dock limited to 30 watts? if so try plugging directly to the 65W to verify if possible. not sure if the dock is required for using VR

If you're using more than 30 Watts, which you should be in VR, then of course the battery will drain over time even when plugged in.
