Help picking projector

Niel_A

Hi there,

I'm looking to buy a projector to put in my small apartment since we don't really have room for a tv.
I've tried looking up information about projectors but it still looks like better specs don't necessary mean better experience.

I would prefer to project on my white wall instead of on a screen to keep the aesthetic of the old interior intact.

The goal is to use it with Chromecast and steam link.

Are there things I should pay attention to that are important?
I assume I need a projector that can be ceiling mounted and can adjust the projection to fit on available space since the room isn't perfectly square either.

Attached is a drawing with the measurements of the room.
-Distance projector-wall = 280 cm
-Floor - ceiling = 250 cm

Light blue area is the area where the screen can be projected.
-Height is 136 cm (starting 90cm of the floor)
-Width is 119 cm.

Budget is around 500 euro. Living in Belgium.

Thanks a lot for any advice,
Niel

What do you mean by not having room for a tv? Anything under 50 inch would fit perfectly where the projector screen would do and would give you much better performance in ambient light. Especially since you do to want to use an actual projector screen.

I should have specified. There is no room without ruining the space.
The room should be living room first and not the tv room that we have to walk through every time we invite people in for some coffee.
