Memory compatibility on MSI MPG B760I EDGE motherboard

Go to solution Solved by Tetras,

The motherboard's QVL and 'compatibility' aren't the same thing. The QVL will list the modules that the manufacturer tested and the results of that test, but a lot of memory outside of this list exists and will still work fine.

Hi All!
Complete newbie here.
So I wanted to build my first PC, did my research on pcpartpicker and already ordered everything yesterday.

Now I wanted to read the manuals ahead of time so that I would have all the knowledge I need when building.

So I first started with the motherboard looked for the model webpage (MSI MPG B760I EDGE) on msi and while being there, I opend the compatibility tab.
Now under "memory", I wanted to look for the model that I ordered which is "Corsair Vengeance (2 x 16 GB)", but I didn't find it based on the model number, which in pcpartpicker is labeled under "Part #". (CMK32GX5M2B5200C40)
So i'm wondering, how come this is the case even though pcpartpicker showd no compatibility issues? and is this actually a problem, or can I still continue using this model and hope for the best when building?

Search up your memory kit in the QVL list for your specific motherboard here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-B760I-EDGE-WIFI-DDR4/support#mem.
