Very disappointed but not at all shocked as it was gonna happen. 3DS and Wii U were my first consoles. But, a generation of online gaming gone just like that. Oh well

I wonder if this means you won't be able to download updates as well. 

I got an old 3DS in some box somewhere. It might be a good idea to get it and update to the latest software ones last time.

At least for now, the ability to download updates and purchased items from the shop shouldn't be affected.

Man this sucks. But also my wii u just died to nand corruption too like many others so this double sucks as I need online options to still be able to fix it
