Selling my pc to build an itx one.

I built this PC less than two months ago. brand new parts cost $1900 USD, as shown in PCPartPicker. I’ve cleaned the PC free of dust about every month. Parts are in like-new condition. This PC can handle most games on the max setting with a 1440p ultrawide monitor at much more than 60 fps.

Here is a link to the PCPartPicker website where you can see all the parts and prices: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P3Q9N6

I am bored and want to build an ITX, so I want to sell my current PC to fund my next one, so I want to know how much I could sell it for. I personally think around 18–1700, but I am not entirely sure.

I know the CPU and the ram timing inst great but it sure can game and is a powerhouse, If yall need more info about the PC feel free to ask.

When it comes to selling...most of the time people won't buy it at face value nor at whatever value you put it... you're better off parting the crap outta your PC and making dough that way.  You probably might get 1000$~ but not 1700 nor 1800. Maybe if you're patient you could make 1200 or 1300$. But most people are not gonna buy another persons build unless it is "Fancy" to say the least.

Considering someone could build a cheaper build w almost all of those parts being cheaper for 1K

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

Mini-ITX is typically more expensive than ATX.

New cars lose around 30% of value as soon as they leave the dealership. Used PC may not devalue quite so much, but I suspect the drop is more than 5% - 10%.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

My recommendation: keep the parts you want to use in the ITX system and sell the rest as parts. You're not getting $1,800 for the system as it sits. You need a high-end, premium system to command that sort of price on the used market, and you've got a Ryzen 5 on a B650 motherboard.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I don't think you're going to get anywhere near $1,800 for your PC. It's used; it doesn't matter if it's been turned on once, the fact that the parts are no longer new is going to tank the value. Unless you have all receipts and are willing to provide them to the buyer, they're going to miss out on the warranty more often than not.

As for what it'll sell for, you're best bet is to:

  • Go look at your local classifieds
  • Compare similar systems
  • Price accordingly
  • Post
  • Profit

No one is going to be able to give you an accurate representation of what your system is worth, as the value of the system will change drastically depending on where you live. It's really a pointless endeavour.

As for an ITX system? Eh. They're not bad, but honestly I don't think I'd do it again. They're loud.

I'd say far more than 5%. But, I've seen people buy PCs for stupid money so all it takes is the one idiot willing to pay out.

A lot of people buying PCs on the used market have no idea what motherboard is what 😉

+1. I would just shrink the current build.
