Budget (including currency): ~1750-1800€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p with high settings / High refresh rate Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I recently finished school, got a job and since I now have my own money to throw at things, I decided that I finally want to 'upgrade' my computer.

Current build:

CPU - Ryzen 5 1600X

Cooler - dont make me get started, it´s just some Tower with a 120mm fan attached to it

GPU - MSI GTX 1050 Ti Gaming

MB - ASUS Prime X370-Pro

RAM - 16 GB 2400 MT/s

M.2 - Crucial P5 1TB - as you can probably tell the M.2 drive is oddly new because i bought it earlier this year

HDD - 2x 1TB Seagate Barracuda

PSU - Seasonic Focus GX 850 - same as the M.2, my old PSU decided to blow itself up half a year ago and since the Focus GX was on sale for like half of its orginal price I just bought it

Case - Corsair 275R Airflow

Main Monitor - LG Ultragear 27in 1440p 180 hz

2. Monitor - Some offbrand 1080p 60 hz Monitor that I use as a Media/Discord screen while I game

Before I list the parts I considering upgrading to I'll start off by stating that I'm a die hard Nvidia fan and I don't consider going with a Radeon card even if it is more affordable and quite possibly offers better performance.

But to get to what this post is about, these are the parts that I plan on upgrading to:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D - 8 Core Gaming CPU, Ryzen 7 7700X isnt that much cheaper anyway

Cooler: DeepCool AK620 - Probably the Zero Dark version, it´s better looking and barely cheaper

MB: MSI MPG B650 Carbon WIFI - chose this MB for the looks // more on this down below because I need some help with this

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB CL30 - Some RGB, no particular reason to choose this kit

GPU: Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AMP AIRO - currently the cheapest I could get my hands on, performance seems fine and it honestly looks alright aswell

But to get back to the MB: AM5 Boards are still crazy expensive, 270 for a good looking B650 Board with decent external IO is alot. It seems fine to me but I'm not sure if I should choose another B650 Board or maybe even a B650E or X670E board.

Maybe I should also add that I will buy the GPU seperately from the rest of my upgrade because I saved up enough money for it and I cant wait to finally get some more frames on my new 180 hz Monitor. Depending on Ryzen 8000 launch dates I might even get another pricecut for the 7800X3D because I wont be able to comfortably save up enough money to complete the upgrade before February to maybe even March or April next year.

Prices combined: 1718.07€

GPU: 849.00€

CPU, Cooler, MB & Ram: 869.07€

Please leave your thoughts on this in the comments. I'm open to anything as im not that experienced with picking parts.

Pretty decent build plan. You can save a lot of money buying your GPU used. It isn't for everybody, but you can save some budget for something else.

Intel Core i7 11700F + EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING RTX 3070 OC + 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz RAM + ASROCK Z590 Steel Legend WIFI 6E + Razer Hanbo 360mm AIO + Corsair RM850X + Deepcool CH510 Case + Acer Nitro XV271 280hz Gaming Monitor

I don't how the market is by you, but see if you can update your motherboard's bios to accommodate ryzen 5000 and pick up a 5700x if cheap enough, then pick up a 32gb kit of ram that should be reasonable in price(I hope). I think a 4070 ti should pair fine with the 5700x.

All this depends on how the market is in your part of the world.

Gaming With a 4:3 CRT

System specs below

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X with a Noctua NH-U9S cooler

Thats kindof what I thought. The 5800X3D still has great value but I'd personally rather go with DDR5

A friend of mine just told me to suck it up, get a used 1080 Ti off of Ebay and wait with getting a new GPU till rtx 5000 rolls out. Sounds fine to me but on the other hand id just rather get what I can now and be done for some time.

Already got the Bios updated, since I still got time till I can afford getting a CPU update I'll consider it.

Main Monitor - LG Ultragear 27in 1440p 180 hz

2. Monitor - Some offbrand 1080p 60 hz Monitor that I use as a Media/Discord screen while I game

my plan would be to keep the PSU, case, HDD, and SSD. Everything else would be an easy ditch, i wouldnt even bother testing a 5800X3D stability on low end X370 board.

100 euro overbudget but you can just let go of the CPU platform in bundle on used market to cover the cost. The 4080 would wreck the 4070Ti in longevity and actually perform closer to the XTX.

A friend of mine just told me to suck it up, get a used 1080 Ti off of Ebay and wait with getting a new GPU till rtx 5000 rolls out. Sounds fine to me but on the other hand id just rather get what I can now and be done for some time.

id get the 5700xt instead as they perform simarlry but the amd card has longer driver life in it

Your X370 seems pretty iffy but I don't think there's no reason we shouldn't put a bit of faith in it.

Cooling is still a question. One small 120mm fan like ak400 or bigger setup like AK620? Case have sufficient cooling as well, all the fans there?

ASUS website's page is down, I can't check if you have a BIOS update that unlocks 5800X3D compatibility as well as 3600MHz RAM speeds.

I don't see the point in spending like 300eur more for a 7700/X to get the same performance:
