Can someone who has and plays this game frequently give me some idea of the frame rate I can expect? I heard it's terribly optimized. Specs are in Sig.

I usually play in servers with like, 20 people so I get around 50.

Tweak it to your liking and you'll reach 60 pretty easy I reckon

What could i expect to get in terms of frame rate with an i5 3570 and R9 270x on whatever settings at 1080p?

PC Specs in Sig: Singleplayer FPS can range from 30-90 depending on what is happening in the scene at the time for me. Multiplayer FPS I find depends a lot on the server, I played on a 50+ player Wasteland server recently which ran at 50+ fps with the same settings as singleplayer (I can upload screenshots of my graphics settings if required). Early on people blamed poor optimisation for bad FPS in multiplayer (which was partly the case) when a lot of the popular game modes were simply ported from Arma 2 which doesn't work well at all. Luckily, there's a lot of tweaks that can be done to the game to squeeze more FPS out of it, but I've never really bothered with doing that.

Problem with the arma gaming engine, is indeed that it has a very bad optimization to utilize multiple cores, since you on an intel i7, you should be able to still get playable framerates, cause intel has, better single core performance, but still, the gaming engine is just terrible, for multicore cpu´s. it will perform arround the same as on an i3 basicly.

Yeah pretty bad but 30-40 FPS and not ever dropping below 30 in 50+ people maps and these graphics is very nice, I'm not complaining!
