Hi, I'm a relative amateur in the pc building community, and would appreciate your help with a small upgrade :3

I'm currently running an 8yo system i built myself and upgraded trough the years, ands its starting to act up.

Current system:

- GPU: GTX 1070

- MB: Gigabyte h170 gaming 3 (upgrading)

- CPU: Intel i5 6600K (upgrading)

- CPU cooler: Arctic Freezer i11

- RAM: 2x 16GB Crucial

- PS: system power 9 - 600W (i probably need to upgrade?)

- Case: Cooler master elite 430 black

- Storage (need new)

Lately I've been running in to some performance problems mainly limited my my CPU, and my motherboards audio is completely dead.

My current plan is to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard with new drives, and later down the line getting a new GPU (the 1070 is serving me well for now). Planning for a new GPU probably means ill need

a new power supply as well. (i would love to try VR and get a ultrawide monitor at some point)

What decent CPU would you recommend for weekend gaming, and cad/3d work. And what motherboard should I buy, I would love to have at least 2 PCI-e slots, and at least one nvme slot preferably 2.

And what nvme ssds and normal ssds do you recommend. ( i currently have a 5yo 250gb ssd, and a 750gb hdd, they are both running out of space).

Also is the cpu cooler still adequate?

Thank you for all the help, i appreciates it :3

But you don't need that 1050W psu now. Not sure you'll need it later.

And if you buy new Ram you might just as well consider DDR5 (and a DDR5 board). Cheap DDR5 perf is similar to expensive DDR4, so you can go cheap.

You could probably keep your old case.

I don't understand those ubiquitous F cpu recommandations. At least mention that a non-F can be helpful. Do you carry a spare tyre in your car ?

Well a 12600k is about 50 euros more for an igpu

Ddr4 and ddr5 perform basically the same in games anyways

Ye but for only 120 euros? It’s a steal. I’d just get it now and not worry about it later

Here I see 21 more (10%). And a 13400 might be a better choice than the 12600KF anyway.

For a similar price I'd go with the newer plateform
