have a board that supports regular batteries (+,-) but that batttery died and I have a batttery from a previous project but it has a balance/protection wire. is there a BMS or something that I can buy so that I can use that battery. I'm not educated in this area so if im going about this the wrong way inform me how to do it

That's all batteries, they all have a + and -. What board is it? If it doesn't take 7.4v then you'll likely damage it trying to use that battery.

yeah it takes 3.4 I was being stupid and I kinda charged the battery and tried using it on that board. I feel bad because I was doing this for my friend, but at least it only a cheap speaker board (portable) like $20 max for the whole speaker, and it was broken anyway. (the board started smoking, no visible damage tho)

but I would still like a BMS so that I can use the battery for other stuff or something. If there is a port like usbc or usba that I could plug this battery into so that I can use it as a portable battery pls let me know.
