DRAM light on MOBO

warmerplace212

So we just inserted an lian li galahad ii trinity cooling and now the DRAM light glowes yellow and the pc won´t boot we tryed clearing CMOS we changed them from slot 1 to slot 2 and we tryed to boot on either of just 1 stick and it still won´t boot could it be something else than RAM?? or is it only taking long to read the RAM??

(BTW the light is permanent and not blinking)

Pc specs:

If you change cooler and PC won't boot or has ram problems, it is usually the mount, but I don't know how easy it is (or if it possible) to mistighten/overtighten this cooler.

FYI: Most boards need the ram in the second slot (from the cpu) and may not boot in any other config.

so i forgot to mention that it had a different AIO before and that had a different mount we had to put back on the AM4 brackets in order to mount the new pump but i don´t know if he has overtighten the bracket or not bcs we are in a discord call and i can not feel the screws myself, i told him that if he screws it down do not use force for it only hand tighten it so i geus that should be fine.

and yeah it was just a try if it maybe will boot in channel 2 because it didn´t boot in channel 1

this is incorrect. Most boards can achive better memory performance in the right slots, but they should boot in any ocnfiguration.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

the other quiestion is just if it has something to do with a usb splitter or argb splitter that we had to install because the motherboard doesn´t support that much conncetions bcs for what ever reason lian li uses controllers for every single thing like the strimer cables and the uni fans and the AIO so it is using 3 controllers all are connected the right way, we checked every cable on it.

The Q-LEDs are not really error lights. They tell you where in POST it's getting stuck. The component it gets stuck on is what you check first, but it doesn't have to mean that it's the problematic component. I would remove the CPU and check the CPU pins (Feel free to post a picture as well). If they look fine, re-seat it and be careful not over tightening the AIO and try again.

Many do, some don't, I've seen it myself. Some manuals are also very clear that you must use slot 2 with one stick.

The OP might as well do what the manual says when they don't know what's wrong.

I suppose it is possible if the board is overloaded, or there's some kind of short, but the only way to test that is to disconnect everything and the passive cooling of an AIO isn't great.

What ones? They should in no way have issues with using different slots, because thats how memory topology works, a stuck in any slot should be good enough to boot, and manuals that say you must are saying that just because it causes less issues with DOCP/XMP

so we tryed to disconnecting stuff but it didn´t help or changed anything

besides that we had to install a USB splitter and ARGB splitter  because lian li want you to use 3 controllers for strimer cables, fans and cooler.

DDR4 does not take that long to train. Only a few seconds at most.

It is entirely possible that it is something else than DRAM that's defective. It can be that the CPU is not inserted correctly and the memory controller (integrated into the CPU) is not making contact and is seen as a DRAM fault. The motherboard can also be defective and prevent DRAM from being detected.

First thing to do is make sure that all connectors are correctly plugged and that all components are seated properly. Especially the CPU. But also the GPU and DRAM. If that did not fix the issue, it is time to test each components into another system to find the one that does not play nice.

Good luck !
