I'm deciding on a CPU for my upcoming build, stuck between AMD and Intel.

Here's some crucial info:

GPU: ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti AMP Holo (Not the 40 series due to budget constraints)

RAM: 32GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta 6400MHz DDR5

Budget: $500 for both CPU and motherboard(Willing to spend more if it is worth it)

Need a non-bottlenecking CPU for the 3070 Ti. So, should I go for AMD or Intel and which CPU should I select? Any ideas? Your guidance is appreciated!

I've got a few issues with the framing of the question. First off, do you already own the parts I question or are they just what you think would probably fit well in the build? If just just think they'll do well in the system, they should probably be changed, and it's a better idea to give the prompt in the form of a full build rather than as a "what CPU should i get?" question so we have wiggle room to move budget from one area to another, and if you've already bought parts you want to clearly communicate that so we know what we're dealing with. If you do own everything, did you just buy it already or are you upgrading, and if so from what?

If you already own those parts, the answer is a 13600K and some ~$200 Z790 board, Intel is the only option if you want the XMP of that memory kit to actually work. AMD is probably the better option as you can fit a 7800X3D into this budget, and that's a better CPU for games with everything but Starfield, but it would require you to manually under lock your RAM.

what is your budget? Because I remember in a previous thread that we worked out a different build

@Why_Me also had a decent build in the thread

I tend to change my buying plans frequently.

-I refunded the RAM to downgrade to 32GB based on advice.

-I also downgraded the motherboard based on advice too.

-Also, I initially considered a used GPU but decided against it, opting for a new 3070 Ti instead.

I kept everything else the same. For the budget, I am looking forward to spend 500 USD on the motherboard and the CPU.

Total PC budget is actually 1550 USD since I am a RGB maniac spending more than a hundred bucks just for Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 cables.

So I'd go for this build then if you don't need any storage (since you didn't in the old thread)

And this pc is just for gaming right?

Well that GPU is slow enough to bottleneck even a Ryzen 3800X at 1440p, so i don't get the conditions of this build at all. Do you already have the said GPU and memory ? if so why buying them separately of the rest of the system? Who the hell starts a build by buying the RAM first ?!?!?!

RAM is memory

Do you mean storage?

I'd go for this build with 1550 bucks
