hey guys. so i was looking for a phone for myself and i'm on a budget of INR 30,000/- and these were the ones i could shortlist.. i really want the Pixel 7A but it's close INR 45,000/-. i really love it's form factor.. but then i came across the Moto G84, Pixel 6A and the Phone (1).. these are within my budget but i don't want phone that are a year old.. and the Moto G84 has a SD695 under the hood and it's might be too big for my hands.. i want something with a small form factor!

my requirements :

  1. good cameras
  2. good battery
  3. small form factor preferred
  4. storage

also pls lemme know the reason for whichever phone you have voted for.. appreciate the help guys!! have a good one!🥂

IMO, if your choice is between Motorola (owned by Lenovo) or Google, I'd choose Google. Nothing phone company is owned by a guy who cofounded OnePlus, who used to make great phones in my opinion, so my hopes aren't high for its long term success.

If you want a small form factor, the Z Flip series is worth it, even back to the Flip 3. Personally, I try to stick to either Samsung, Google, or Apple with my phones for security/update reasons.

hey! thanks for the reply.. yes i would love to get a Google but it's currently too expensive but i'm willing to wait a couple of months for the price to drop...
tbh, the Z Flip series is expensive plus i don't want any old phones cause they won't get many software updates...

thanks!🥂

A major reason for my proclivity to stick to Samsung, Google, or Apple is their +5 year security update commitments. Flip 3 being 2 years old at this point.

Yes, folding phones are expensive, but the Z Flip form factor is the most compact flagship phone you can get. Speaking as someone who's used phones as small and obscure as the Unihertz Atom, having a compact phone from a company like Samsung is worth the extra money. I have a perfectly good condition Flip3 I've used exclusively as my primary phone for the last two years and are considering the Flip5 for better battery life (can spend more time exclusively using the more useful and featured front display with how I mostly use my phone).

If your idea of 'small form factor' isn't as extreme, consider something like the iPhone 12 mini/SE or flagship non-ultra sized Samsung phones. I personally would use iPhones if Messages from the Web existed on that platform outside of macOS (I do have a secondary iPhone SE 2020 with my company SIM in it), they're going to better meet your camera+compact+battery life requirements than any Android phone (outside of the Flip5 probably).

i just checked and the Z Flip 3 is still INR 50,000 which is totally out of my budget!

honestly, i just need a phone that fits my hands.. i've used the 12 Mini and the 13 and those are just fine for my hand.. even the SE is out of budget.. if budget wasn't the constraint, i would have gotten the Pixel 7A, no questions asked.. the reason i don't want iPhones is cause i use a lotta third party apps which isn't possible on iPhones.. and a couple more reasons... so Android it is!
